How to Search an Online Library Catalog

Searching by Title

Title searches are used to locate works for which you know the title or part of the title. The result of the search is typically a list of titles that match some or all of the words you've used in your search. For example, if you know the exact title of a source, you can enter the entire title. If you know only part of the title, you might have to sift through a screen containing a list of several books whose titles contain a particular phrase or word. In this tutorial, you'll conduct a title search on the Boston College online library catalog, QUEST, located at http://www.bc.edu/quest.
