How to Search an Online Library Catalog : A Research Guide by Mike Palmquist

Searching by Title: Step 2

When you click on the Search button, the catalog conducts a search of the sources in its collection and displays the results on a new page. The results of your title search will include all listings for the book For Whom the Bell Tolls, any collections that include the novel, other materials in the library whose title contains the words "for whom the bell tolls," and translations of the book into languages other than English. If you find that a title search has returned too many or too few results, consider refining your search by using techniques such as listing authors or limiting a search by publication date. To learn more about how to refine searches on your library's online catalog, consult its online help or ask for guidance from a librarian.
