Chapter 8: Conducting a Boolean Search in a Database

The Internet is often the first place we go to find information, but the results of a Web search can be overwhelming. Instead of casting a wide net, use Boolean terms to focus your search and weed out irrelevant results. Then limit your search for sources by date (for instance, only sources published within the last year) or source type (only journals, or only full-text, for example). Crafting a careful search now will save you time later as you skim the results.
