Chapter 9: Using a Bibliography


Scholarly bibliographies can give you a head start in identifying all the materials that have been published in your field. By gathering all publication information into one place, they save you the time and trouble of tracking down each source, discarding the irrelevant ones, and probably missing some along the way. Some selective bibliographies also limit their focus to the best sources available on a topic. Bibliographies are shelved in a library’s reference room, so be sure to look there, or ask a reference librarian for help.
