About the Contributors
John
Battalio, Ph.D.,
is an associate professor in the technical communication program at Boise State
University, where he also teaches distance education. His interests include Web
development, the XML development process, and online help systems. In addition,
he has researched the historical and linguistic evolution of the writing of
ornithologists and the interconnections between professional and popular writing
in the sciences. His articles have appeared in The Journal of Technical Writing and
Communication, IEEE Transactions on
Professional Communication, and Technical Communication Quarterly. His
book, The Rhetoric of Science in the
Evolution of American Ornithological Discourse, has been published by Ablex
Press. John contributed to the tutorials, teaching topics, and quizzes on
TechComm Web.
Roger Munger, Ph.D., is
an assistant professor of technical communication at Boise State University. His
teaching and research interests include Web-based training, print document
production, publications management, and proposal development. He is also active
in the Society for Technical Communication (STC). Roger earned his Ph.D. in Communication
and Rhetoric from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He contributed to the
tutorials, online quizzes, and suggested responses on TechComm
Web.
